we took a little break from recording.  so did the hiwatt so hopefully that will be back from vacation soon.
the good news is ALIMAGNET RECORDS has asked us to put out our record with them. j. from alimagnet is putting together some of the dirtiest and heaviest stuff from out of the midwest he can scrape off the bottom of a subway floor. we're pretty honored to be included in what's going to be a ridiculous collection of forceful music. check them out here alimagnet records and myspace here alimagnet records.

mike from planetstruck and apehead gets it:

saturday, January 26, 2008 cold meal I miss the days when there was no e-mail or links to an MP3 and you went to see shows through word of mouth, back when no promoter cared about how many people you could bring in but how good you were. I miss the days when people actually gave a shit about original music and the artisitc value it carried. The time when Hammerhead, Janitor Joe, the Melvins, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, the Cows, the Wipers, Unsane, Dinosaur Jr., Helmet and many others were discoverd just by people showing an interest in origianl music and not how much money they could put in the club owners pocket. This pure lack of acknowledgment/interest or whatever you want to call it has ruined the creative aspect of writing music for me. I used to love playing live but not anymore. The Chicago music scene has taken that life out of me (I'm sure other music scenes are very similar). What's the point of playing in front of 3 people no matter how good you are. No one cares anymore...no one. The days of discovering bands through word of mouth are over. So, the next time you have an ego about your music or have an ego about how good you are, you know best and "rock 101" just remember, no one is listening. I will always write/create music until I die because it brings a personal satisfaction. I am done trying to please anybody else and am done catering to people. :
